On a 3.6L commodore:
With coolant temperature UNDER 40 degrees centigrade:
1. Jack up the vehicle and place on stands, so that the car is LEVEL.
2. Open bonnet (or the "hood" for Americans) and remove cooling system fill cap.
3. Right hand side of radiator - remove small hose that runs to overflow bottle.
4. Place 20L bucket under front-drivers side of car. Locate drain valve.
5. Use 16mm socket (by HAND - NO driver) and undo nut - it will fall down and coolant will drain
6. Once all 10L of coolant is out - replace cock and HAND tighten. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
7. Add Nulon RED coolant mixed to 50:50 until system is full.
8. Do not cap filling cap. Start engine (press the left silver rotating knob on left of steering wheel when you switch the ignition on. That will bring up service mode.
9. Allow the car to heat the coolant until at least 91c is achieved. Keep filling coolant until the system is full.
10. All of the bubbles should have stopped by now - the filler is the highest point in the system.
11. Job done. Take it for a spin - check every few days for correct levels.

To change the coolant on a VE Commodore, start by ensuring the engine is cool and then remove the radiator cap. Place a drain pan under the radiator and open the drain valve to let the old coolant flow out. Once drained, close the valve and fill the radiator with a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water. Finally, run the engine for a few minutes to circulate the new coolant, check for leaks, and ensure the coolant level is correct before replacing the cap.

how do you remove the washer bottle on a ve commodore
To replace the coolant in a VE Commodore, first ensure the engine is cool, then locate the radiator drain plug and open it to drain the old coolant into a suitable container. Next, close the drain plug and fill the radiator with a mixture of coolant and water, typically in a 50:50 ratio, through the radiator cap. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes with the heater on to help circulate the new coolant, then check for any leaks and top off the coolant reservoir as needed. Always dispose of the old coolant properly, as it is toxic.
