I don't know long this question has been on the site, but I recently had the very same problem and was disappointed to find no answer here. However, with some diligent digging I discovered the solution and will now offer it here. Even if the original questioner has long since moved on from their Dodge Shadow, this may prove useful to someone in the future who has a similar problem. The problem is a faulty relay that's supposed to turn off the light shortly after the key's removed from the ignition but doesn't. The solution is to either replace or remove the relay. I don't need the light, so I pulled the damned thing out, and now I no longer have to keep the battery charger at the ready! To find the relay, look up under the left side of the dashboard. There you will find an array of round metallic electronic components sticking down. The one you want is a little bit bigger around than a roll of life-savers, but not as long -- about an inch and a half. It may be difficult to pull, but yank that sucker straight out and your problem will be over. Or you can replace it for about $20. Good luck!
Never unhook the battery with the ignition turned on. There is always a little voltage spike that occurs when disconnecting or reconnecting the battery. If the ignition is on the computer will be powered up and that spike could "fry" the computer.
The answer to the riddle "What always comes into a house through a keyhole?" is usually "a key." A key is specifically designed to fit into a keyhole, allowing it to unlock doors and gain access to a house. It's a clever play on words that highlights the relationship between keys and keyholes.
To remove the battery from a 2007 Honda Shadow, first ensure the motorcycle is turned off and parked on a stable surface. Remove the seat by unscrewing the bolts or using the quick-release mechanism, if applicable. Once the seat is off, locate the battery compartment, disconnect the negative (-) terminal first followed by the positive (+) terminal, and then carefully lift the battery out of the compartment. Always handle the battery with care and dispose of it properly if replacing.
For a 1994 Honda Shadow VLX 600, you typically need a 12V lead-acid battery, specifically a size YTX14-BS or equivalent. It's important to choose a maintenance-free battery for convenience, although a conventional battery can also be used if you are willing to maintain it. Always check the specifications in your owner's manual or consult a professional for the best fit.
In a 1989 Dodge D100, the ignition module is typically located on the driver's side fender, mounted to the fender well. It is usually near the battery and may be covered by a plastic shield. To access it, you may need to remove any covering and disconnect the wiring harness. Always ensure to disconnect the battery before working on ignition components.
once a battery is connected even if the key is not in the ignition, there is always power at certain points in your car. Connecting a battery backwards will not start your car, but it can and will fry the wires to your starter.
check fuses make sure there are no shorts in the wiring. make sure that the starter is on properly and that the nut is tight that holds the positive wire.
Run the RED wire to a circuit controlled by the ignition switch. Only the yellow wire should run off the battery, or an "always hot" circuit.
Its the ignition switch change it and that will stop the problem
NO.
To access the battery on a Toyota MR2, you typically need to open the rear trunk, as the battery is located in the trunk compartment. Remove any covers or panels that may obstruct access to the battery. Ensure the ignition is off and disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal when working on the battery. Always consult your owner's manual for specific instructions related to your MR2 model.
An ignition coil typically has two primary wires: a positive wire connected to the battery and a negative wire that connects to the ignition control module or distributor. Some ignition coils may also have a third wire for a ground connection or additional features like a feedback signal. Always refer to the specific vehicle's wiring diagram for accurate information, as configurations can vary.
