Were can I buy a throttle cable for a 97 geo metro
You need to clean out your carb or need a new throttle cable
To add a throttle cable to a Briggs and Stratton carburetor without a manual throttle, first, ensure that the carburetor is compatible with a throttle cable assembly. Next, you’ll need to install a throttle control lever on the engine's frame or handle that can connect to the throttle cable. Attach one end of the throttle cable to the lever and the other end to the throttle linkage on the carburetor, ensuring it’s properly secured and adjusted for smooth operation. Finally, test the throttle functionality to ensure it opens and closes the carburetor's throttle plate correctly.
To remove the throttle cable on a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero, first, ensure the motorcycle is off and cool. Locate the throttle grip assembly and remove any necessary covers or screws to access the throttle cable. Disconnect the cable from the throttle grip by loosening the retaining screw, then trace the cable down to the carburetor or fuel injection unit, where you will need to disconnect it from there as well. Once both ends are detached, you can fully remove the throttle cable from the motorcycle.
To remove the throttle cable on a Lincoln Mark VII, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, locate the throttle cable at the throttle body and detach it by releasing the retaining clip or unscrewing the mounting bracket. Follow the cable to the accelerator pedal assembly, where you'll need to unhook it from the pedal linkage. Once both ends are disconnected, you can fully remove the throttle cable from the vehicle.
Need more info!! Do you mean a 1991 Ford Ranger? By throttle do you mean the cable to the fuel system or the system itself? Fuel injection or carburetor?
There should be a small ball type stud that is connected to the throttle linkage, beyond the throttle cable. The detent cable should push into that ball and stay fit there. Make sure you have the correct holding bracket for the detent cable and adjust the cable after installing if need be.
To replace the throttle cable on a 1990 Mazda 323, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove the old cable by detaching it from the throttle body and the accelerator pedal; you may need to remove any covers or panels obstructing access. Install the new cable by connecting it to the throttle body and accelerator pedal, ensuring it is properly routed without kinks. Finally, test the throttle for smooth operation before reconnecting the battery.
To loosen the throttle cable at the carburetor, first, locate the cable adjuster or the mounting point where the cable connects to the carb. Depending on the design, you may need to loosen a lock nut or screw to adjust the tension. Gently pull the cable to create slack, then secure any fasteners back in place to ensure proper adjustment. Always check the full range of motion after adjustment to ensure proper throttle operation.
The MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor on a 1997 Geo Metro is typically located on the intake manifold, near the throttle body. It is a small, rectangular component with an electrical connector and a vacuum line attached to it. To access it, you may need to remove some engine covers or components for better visibility. Always ensure the engine is off and cool before attempting to locate or service the MAP sensor.
you will need to either 1. replace the clutch 2.tighten the throttle cable to hold the throttle open a tiny bit 3. the engine may not be receiving much fuel
the reason the throttle would be sticking on your focus is that it (the actual unit) could be dirty. or the throttle cable could have dirt in its casing. what you need too do is remove the throttle cable and spray engine degreaser in the casing and hang it up too let the dirt and grime drip from it. be sure to use wd-40 to relubricate the cable. now as of the throttle body do the same thing. but use a non abrasive cloth and wipe the unit clean. make sure there is no dirt in any small cracks or crevises.
you will need to replace the throttle cable, and while you are at it check the return spring.
