you have a dirty battery post
From battery to starter solenoid
To wire a starter for a go-kart, first, connect the battery's positive terminal to the starter's positive terminal using a suitable gauge wire. Then, connect the starter's negative terminal to the go-kart's frame or battery's negative terminal for grounding. Use a push-button switch or ignition switch to connect from the battery's positive terminal to the starter solenoid, allowing the starter to engage when the button is pressed. Finally, ensure all connections are secure and insulated to prevent short circuits.
The positive battery terminal goes to ground, the negative terminal goes to the starter solenoid.
When connected to the cable which normally runs to the starter it completes the circuit. Electrons flow from the negative terminal to the positive terminal.
The starter.
yes if you dont remove the positive terminal off the battery before unistalling the starter or installing it the lead going to the starter will be hot.
Find the positive battery terminal. Follow the thick cable from that terminal and it will lead to the starter solenoid.
Look for a loose or corroded positive battery cable at the battery post - or a loose/corroded battery terminal on the positive cable.
Obviously the positive one....which is best found by being the one that DOESN'T end at a ground point. the easiest solution to that is to start from the starter. the LARGEST (presumibly black) wire from the starter to the battery terminal is the GROUND. that would make the other terminal the positive.
Follow the thick red cable from the positive terminal on the battery. It leads straight to the starter motor.
The starter should have two wires. The positive wire goes to the positive terminal on the battery. The ground wire can be grounded to anything that is metal.
under the engine follow the positive cable off of the battery terminal
