the repair manual for 88 91 civic/crx specifies engine oil depending on the operating temperature range, 10w 30 will work, id recomend Honda Transmission Fluid as i have used both and this one provides a smoother shift.
how do i check the transmission fluid on a 1988 Honda accord, it is a automated
Yes it will fit.
automatic transmission fluid, preforably a synthetic or synthetic blended fluid.
nope.
add transmission fluid
For a 1988 Ford Ranger : M5OD-R1 , 5 speed manual transmission ( transmission code " M " ) 2.9 liter V6 engine , rear wheel drive ( 2.8 U.S. quarts of MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used )
Should be a plug on the side of transmission Low fluid might have caused the sychonizers (?) to overheat
yes they are the same transmission, does not matter if the engine is a d15 1.5 liter or a d16 1.6 liter
Ford manual transmissions do not have dipsticks like most Ford automatics do The manual transmission fluid level is checked at the fill plug on the transmission
To check or add transmission fluid on a 1988 Honda Accord DX, locate the transmission dipstick, which is typically found near the back of the engine bay on the driver's side. With the engine running and at operating temperature, pull out the dipstick, wipe it clean, reinsert it, and then remove it again to check the fluid level. If the fluid is low, use a funnel to add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube. Always ensure the vehicle is on a level surface for an accurate reading.
A 1986-89 5-Speed transmissions will interchange if Fuel injected you must change with fuel injected Transmission or use a cerebrated transmission with a special bushing to extend main shaft. Some flywheels may have to be changed to accept special bushing. I am currently doing the same thing I found a transmission for $275. with 125 thousand miles on it.
In a 1988 Ford Ranger : If you have the Mazda 5 speed manual transmission ( transmission code " M " ) it takes ( 2.8 U.S. quarts of MERCON automatic transmission fluid ) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have a Mitsubishi 5 speed manual transmission ( transmission code " D " ) it takes ( 2.4 U.S. quarts of 80 - 90 W gear lube )
