To replace the brake light on a 2000 Ford Explorer, remove the screws holding the brake light in place. Gently, but firmly, pull the brake light out of the vehicle and replace with a new one.
If it's the same as my 1995 Ford Explorer XLT , open the liftgate and there are 2 screws at the top of the lense , remove the screws and carefully pull the lense straight back towards you ( besides the screws there are pins >>>>>>> that hold the lense in place )
the screws come off and you replace it
take the three or 4 Phillips screws out of the taillight, remove the light assembly and replace the bulb......all with the tailgate up of course.....
i assume it is the brake light that is inside the car above the parcel shelf. You will need to get a screwdriver and on the underside of the brake light there will to two holes - inside are the screws (they are there), Remove the screws and then carefully lift the plastic cover up and out of the way. Now remove the blown bulb and replace.
Remove screws on either end of light housing. Remove brake light. Remove bulb. Using a cloth, place new bulb in socket. Replace brake light. Attach screws. bulb cost approx. $2.00 for a two pack of bulbs, beats having the dealer do it and charge you an arm and a leg :)
To replace the brake light on a 1997 Toyota Corolla, first, open the trunk and locate the brake light assembly. Remove the screws or clips securing the assembly, then carefully pull it out. Disconnect the old bulb by twisting it counterclockwise and replace it with a new bulb. Reassemble the brake light assembly by reconnecting it and securing it with the screws or clips. Test the new bulb to ensure it works properly before closing the trunk.
Take out the two screws and replace one or both of the lamps.
To replace the third brake light on a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor, first, open the rear hatch and locate the cover for the brake light assembly. Remove the screws securing the cover, then gently pull it away to access the bulb. Twist the old bulb counterclockwise to remove it, replace it with a new bulb, and reassemble the cover by securing it with screws. Finally, test the new brake light to ensure it’s functioning properly.
There should be a few screws around the housing of the brake light/indicator housing then it is as simple as taking the bulb out and replacing it with the appropriate one.
On a 1996 Ford Explorer tail lights, If you lower or lift the tailgate there should be some screws on the inside jam of where the tailgate closes you will need to remove the screws, the light fixture may fall so have some one hold it while you take out the screws. Also you may need a torx head screwdriver.
The 1998 Nissan center brake light is a sealed unit. The entire brake light unit will need to be replaced. Remove the wiring harness. Remove the brake light retaining screws. Reverse the process to install the new brake light unit.
