number one wire will point to the number one cylinder
there is no hard fast rule here. but typically with the cap off and number one cylinder at TDC on compression stroke. the rotor will point at number one cylinder on the engine.
umm, 8?
The marked # 1 position on the distributor cap faces to the REAR
Easiest way to find it is to set #1 piston at TDC and remove the distributor cap to see where the rotor is pointing. It should be pointing to #1 cylinder position in relation to the distributor cap.
Follow wire from # 1 cylinder to cap. check position of rotor. see link
On the 5.0 liter and 5.8 liter V8 engines , # 1 on the distributor cap faces to the REAR and slightly towards the drivers side On the 4.9 liter straight 6 cylinder , # 1 on the distributor cap faces AWAY from the engine
It doesn't have a distributor cap.
if its a v-8 it is 18436572 number one on the cap should be pointing at number 1 cylinder is there a picture of the cap
A good quality cap has number 1 labeled.
in the engine compartment hidden under the valve chamber
6 cylinder, yes. 4 cylinder, no.
