In the 1987 Toyota Tercel, the Transmission Fluid dipstick is typically located near the back of the engine bay, on the driver's side, and is marked for easy identification. To check the brake fluid, look for the brake fluid reservoir, which is usually situated on the driver's side near the back of the engine compartment, often labeled with a cap that indicates "brake fluid." Ensure both fluids are at the proper levels for optimal vehicle performance.

There is not much difference between power steering and transmission fluid. Many people use power steering in place of transmission fluid because it is cheaper.
I have a 1987 Toyota 4 runner...I need to replace my manual transmission fluid....and I needto replace it with Lucas Transmission fluid....how much do I need to buy?
80w90 gear oil
What fluid? Water, antifreeze, oil, power sterring, transmission, windshield washer, brake, what? Not meaning to be nasty, but when asking a question, be a little more specific. You also could try reading your owner's manual.
My friend has an 87 honda. If the brake fluid reservior on the 87 is not completely full the level indicator will energize the brake light. Maybe yours is a similar problem. dg_8
I just replaced my transmission on my '87 Town Car and PartSource told me that I need 11.6 L (or 12.25 quarts) of fluid.

Should be a dipstick towards the firewall usually with a red handle. Check it when the transmission is warm and the engine has to be running.
