Righty tighty, lefty loosey. This still aplies to the metal lines at the fuel filter.
Depends on what year and engine. A lot of them will have primary and secondary fuel filters.. the secondary will usually be a canister filter, regardless of engine make, while the primary can be either a canister or a Davco fuel filter. For canister filters, take them off with a filter wrench, fill the new filters with fuel, lubricate the gasket with some diesel fuel.. hand tighten them, then turn them 3/4 of a turn more with the filter wrench.
you get some wrench and turn them and the fuel filter will come right out if you need more details let me know and i can tell you how to turn the wrenches if need be
The fuel filter is located by the fuel tank.You will need a left handed monkey wrench to remove clamp,turn it two turns to the left then a half turn back.
Use a quality oil filter wrench and turn the filter counterclockwise.

Place a drip pan below of the oil filter. Attach an oil filter wrench to the filter. Turn the wrench to the left. When the oil filter is loose turn with your hand until it comes off.
Grab the filter with your hand or a filter wrench and turn counterclockwise.
The ones I work on, you just take a #4 filter wrench, rotate the oil filter counterclockwise until it comes off, put some oil around the seal, mount the filter, hand tighten it, then tighten it an additional 1/4 turn with the filter wrench.
Underneath the brake master cylinder, turn the steering wheels all the way to the right and you can access the lower fitting easier - 19mm wrench on the filter and 14mm on the fitting.
remove the left mud flap and using a strap wrench turn the filter counterclock wise, if strap wrench slips to much ,drive a screwdriver through the darn thing and try to turn it that way.
The fuel filter is located on the driver's side along the underside of the body. You will need two wrenches preferably line wrenches not sure what size,but you will find out when you see it. You will have to hold the connection on the filter with one wrench and turn the threaded nut on the line with the other.
