This could happen for different causes.
1. Your battery is making contact with a surface (like the hood, seat frame or trunk battery holder.) in BMW 325 or Cadillac north-star cases.
2. The positive cables from the alternation or starter are bad and making contact with the engine, manifolds or body (create a short circuit for a couple seconds and cause the light to come on for a short time period).
3. Alternator plug loose.
4. Engine ground cable dirty (in the contact area) or broke.
5. Alternator is about to fail (should charge 14.5 volts.)
6. Alternator belt is not properly adjusted.
7. Or your car is possessed by demons. lol
Alternator is no longer working properly.
its the alternator if the car is running with a battery light on. but check fuses first
If your 1997 Mercury Tracer has a battery light that blinks on and off while the car is running, it most likely means that the battery is not charging. This could be an issue with your alternator.
It should come back after running the engine if the battery is good.
It can but the Battery light should be on. Check with a digital multimeter what the voltage is at the battery, If its 13-14 volts with the car running the alternator is probably o/k
u might of left the frickin light on
The car light? YES! Leaving your car light on WILL make your battery run out. Things like leaving your car door open if the light is on because it is open will cause the lgiht to Mae your car battery run out. There is a big difference between shorted out a car battery and running the battery down. Lighting in itself won't short a battery out but will run it down.
Either the battery has a dead cell and needs replacing or something is on pulling power from the battery.
That light doesn't mean that your battery needs to be replaced. It means that your battery is not being charged while the car is running. Have your alternator tested.
the car battery. the alternator while running
if you can start car pull off the neg battery cable if car stalls its the altinater if it stays running it might be the battery
it stands for Remote Keyless Entry... it means your battery in your key that you had come with your car that has the lock unlock and panic buttons on it, is running low in battery. take it to your dealership and they should replace it for you and your "RKE battery low" light will not be seen again after you get a new battery for your key...
