Wrong size filter installed. The mounting surface was not wiped clean before installing the filter. A thin layer of oil was not applied to the filter gasket before it was installed. When the old filter was removed the old filter gasket was left on the mounting surface. The filter was either tightened too tight or not tight enough. Tighten it 3/4 turn after making contact with the mounting surface. No more and no less. The oil filter is defective and needs replacing. The oil may just look like it is coming from the filter when in fact it is leaking above the filter and running down the filter side. Most likely from a leaking valve cover gasket. My advice is to remove the old filter and make sure the old gasket is removed. Clean the mounting surface and inspect that surface, oil the new filter gasket, install the new filter tightening it 3/4 turn and start the engine. Let run for 30 seconds, shut down, wait 30 minutes. Check the oil level and add as necessary to reach the full mark. Probably will take maybe 1/2 quart or less to replace the oil lost when the filter was changed.
oil leaking out of the muffer and the air filter oil leaking out of the muffer and the air filter oil leaking out of the muffer and the air filter oil leaking out of the muffer and the air filter
Which filter housing? Air filter, oil filter, fuel filter?
my oil filter housing is leaking what should i do?
Remove the old filter. Replace it with a new filter. Before installing the new filter wipe the mounting surface clean and apply a coat of oil to the new oil filter's gasket. Spin on the filter and tighten it 3/4 turn after it makes contact with the mounting surface. No, more and no less. If you still see oil leaking from the filter then look above the filter for the leak. Possibly valve cover is leaking.
The oil filter may be lose.
Possible, but more likely a leaking oil filter or valve cover
could it be from oil line from oil cooling canister
A leaking gasket, a leaking filter, or a leaking drain plug....
Bad PCV valve.
Oil filter? Oil pressure sensor?
The filter is under the front of the engine. It is easier to see if on a rack.
If it's leaking transmission fluid, could be a bad pump seal. If it's leaking engine oil, could be a bad oil filter, leaking valve cover gasket, leaking intake manifold gasket, leaking oil pressure sender, leaking distributor gasket.
