Ignition switch worn and needs replacement
Bad blower resistor?
I have a 1999 Chevy silverado ls which has automatic dusk to dawn head lights how do you turn them off as the on off switch only works in the daylight
The place of something
Position means a place of witch someone works in or is standing ex. I am standing in a very uncomfortable position or I got a new position at work today.
Bad neutral or clutch safety switch? Bad starter? bad starter solenoid?
The Starter switch is on the TOP of the steering colume. There is a small amount of adjustment on it-The key switch is JUST that -the switch is about a foot down from the steering wheel-a metal rod works the switch.
On most makes of cars this problem is fixed by replacing a blower motor resister and not the switch.
The neutral safety relay switch was bad. Replaced it and works fine.
If it is "clicking" then it only leaves two things. Either the switch is bad or the motor. If you bypass the switch with jumper wires from a battery you can rule out the motor. Switch polarity to reverse direction. If that works then it is the switch. Hope that helps.
Possibly resistor pack on blower motor needs replacing
The heater blower motor speed resister is burned out.
When metal passes in front of the switch the magnet inside either makes or breaks an electrical connection depending on if it is a normally open or normally closed type switch. When the metal is removed the switch moves back to its normal position. These are particularly useful in applications where it might be exposed to water since the switch is completely enclosed. Connected to a relay the switch can activate or stop a hydraulic valve when a part has reached its proper position.
