on my 1985 Lincoln town car i had to remove the dash and get back to the firewall and remove a panel on the firewall to get to it. good luck it is a pain.

You can fit up to a 502 Big Block if you really wanted too. The biggest problem being that this is a 1984 is the emissions part of this. I own a 1984 old 98 regency I think its the elite edition with the leather. Anways it has a 5.0L V8 in it and the room is there just working around the computer aspec it the real issue. On all chevys that year 1979-1988 It's Not Fun. Step 1. Remove heater hoses from core under hood. 2. Remove glove box door inside. 3. Take off all 5 heater mounting nuts under the hood. 4.Remove defroster hood on front of heater inside . 5 Gently pull heater unit back and down. 6. Remove all control cables from heater and mark them. 7. Then you can take heater core out of heater casing by removing 4 srews from case where core is. 8. remove front and back retainer straps from core. Reverse to put it back in.
