If your VW Vento is overheating just five minutes after starting, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include low coolant levels, a malfunctioning thermostat, a blocked radiator, or a failing water pump. It's important to check the coolant level and look for any leaks; if the problem persists, I recommend consulting a mechanic for a thorough inspection to prevent engine damage.
It is Radiator fan which shuts on and off automatically because there is a timingdevice which operates the fan to keep the engine coolant cool in extreme temperature.
try changing the ignition control mudule. it sounds like that's heating up to the point of malfunction causing it to not be able to run the engine properly. the same problem can occur in other vehicles like the 3rd generation Chevy camaros.
The Problem was the Engine Coolant Temperture Sensor. IT was malfunctioning. It was telling the Engine it was cold Therefore sending to much fuel at startup when the engine was already warm.
Check all earth wires from battery to engine and earths from body to engine
the engine probably flooding. The fuel filter may be plugged up, replace it.
I have the same problem and have been researching, looks as if it is a faulty or warn coil pack over heating and cuting out as i am getting no spark but have fuel and air.
fuel pump getting hot, shutting off?
check your distributor, it's probably bad. they go for around 250-300 bucks and take about 25 mins to change.
is your security light flashing? turn the key on, leave on for 10 mins, turn key off let it sit for 2 mins, start car
1 Turn the ignition switch to the on position 2 attempt to start the engine. then release the key to the ON position. ( the engine will not start) 3 Observe the SECURITY light. After about 10 mins. SECURITY light will turn off. 4 Turn the ignition switch to off. and wait 5 seconds. 5. repeate steps 1-4 2 more times for a total of 3 cycles in 30 mins. the car is now ready to relearn the Passlock sensor data code. Start the car as usual. is it not complete.
