A malfunction indicator light is also known as a check engine light. It is a light on the dashboard of a car that goes on when there is a problem with the car's engine.
There is not an alternator indicator light on a Honda Pilot. If the alternator goes out, the battery will not stay charged.

if your referring to that small white light on the bottom of each signal that comes on and goes off, that is an indicator for the police to know if someone just ran a red light. notice it goes off when the light turns green.

The "part-time" indicator light illuminates when the vehicle's transmission is positioned into the 4 wheel drive status. Once the vehicle is returned to 2 wheel drive the front hub locks disengage and the indicator light goes out.
Airspeed Indicator.
On my 2005 Element it goes like this. Turn off engine. Press and hold the Select/Reset button on the instrument panel, then turn the ignition switch to on. Hold the button for about 10 seconds until the indicator light goes out.
If the check engine light is flashing the engine is misfiring. Most likely a bad ignition coil.
The system is probably low on refrigerant so it is short cycling. A basic recharge should cure it.
I suspect it is because the pedal return is weak. My Park Avenue does the same thing. I can lift the pedal with very little pressure from my toe and the indicator goes off.
