If your 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII turns over but won't start, it could be due to several issues. Common causes include a faulty fuel pump, a clogged fuel filter, or a dead battery. Additionally, problems with the ignition system, such as worn spark plugs or a malfunctioning ignition coil, could prevent the engine from starting. It's advisable to check for fuel delivery, spark, and error codes to diagnose the issue accurately.
turn the key the motor turns over but will not start
car may turn over but not start; fuel gauge might be off; car will run ragged with little power
Check the crank sensor. This what happened on my 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII.
car won't turn over
First place to start obviously battery-check voltage. Even if you have "some" power it takes almost 10 volts to turn your starter
I would replace the neutral safety switch; Buy it from the Ford dealer where they can print out the picture of it along with its location. I hope this helps you. Mark
Is there fuel pressure to the injector rail?

Check the basics, With an inline spark tester ($6-8.00) check for spark. Does the fuel pump make noise when you turn the key (whining noise)? Is the fuel getting to the engine?
