How do you sustain our natural resources?

Some Natural Resources are unsustainable. Once they are gone they are gone forever (such as fossil fuel). They cannot be renewed. They must be conserved (rationed). Others are renewable such as trees and wildlife. These also must be rationed as their numbers are subject to overuse and need time to replenish. The American Indian knew how to manage the natural resources. Bison were hunted out of necessity, not greed. Then the white man came and slaughtered Bison for the fun of it since the Bison sustained the Indians. And the white man killed Bison by the thousands for only one small piece of anatomy leaving the rest to rot in the sun. This is called raping the natural resources, and is criminal. The white man has since come a long way in their primitive evolution as a people. Now the white man enacts state and Federal Laws to protect many natural resources from overuse and abuse. However some states are way behind still in the evolutionary process and still permit unlimited killing of animals such as the cougar. Texas is one such state siding with rancher special interests who oppose the cougar's right to life.
