The actual triglyceride doesn't have any functional groups. They have all been used during the making of the triglyceride. There used to be 3 hydroxyl functional groups on the glycerol backbone, and 3 carboxylic acid functional groups (1 each on the three fatty acids). However, after the fatty acids react (become esterified) with the alcoholic groups on glycerol, there are no more functional groups in the triglyceride.

no amino acid is not a fatty acid this is because of the following reasons 1- due to the difference of functional group i.e Amino acid has two functional groups one is amino group (-NH2) and other is carboxylic group (-COOH) while in fatty acid (-RCOOH) only carboxylic group are present. 2-Amino acid is the sub-unit of protein while Fatty acid is the sub-unit of lipids(FATS).

Fatty acids and glycerol may combine to form monoglycerides, diglycerides and triglycerides (normal fats and oils). Addition of a phosphate group to a diglyceride will give a membrane lipid (phospholipid).
