∙ 13y agoThen you should talk to your doctor about the reasons for this, as there are many, and some are innocuous (e.g. lab error, minor infection) while others may be indicators of life-threatening diseases (e.g., leukemia, major infection). There are also other indicators within a CBC (complete blood count) that may point to one thing vs. another. Your doctor may order a MANUAL differential count of the types of white blood cells (as opposed to the standard AUTOMATED differential). Your doctor may also order a blood smear and further testing, but it all depends on symptoms that you would discuss with your doctor, signs that your doctor would find during physical exam, and other parts of the blood count, among other blood work which might have been ordered.

∙ 11y agoMy white cell count hovers between 1.6 and 1.7. Chemotherapy did this to me. I am fine most of the time but I have to look out for bacterial infections. If I cut my skin, tripple antibiotic ointment goes on it. If I catch a virus I have to be very careful that a secondary infection doesn't start.
