The purpose of a light bulb is to produce light when the Sun is not shining!
Another answer
Light bulbs were invented to help people to see things better in gloomy or dark conditions and to be able to see their way if they wanted to go somewhere at night. Having any kind of artificial light - not just light bulbs but flaming torches, oil lamps, etc. - meant people could stay up for longer every evening.
Before any kinds of lighting were invented people used to have to go to bed early - especially in the seasons of the year when night time is longer than day time - because, if they stayed up after it got dark, they weren't able to read books or do any work, etc.
The filament in a light bulb generates heat from the electrical current being drawn through the lamp and that heat is what creates the light shining out of the bulb.

When two complimentary threads of DNA coil round each other they form a double helix pattern. They can coil up further to form chromosomes.
DNA ans histones proteins coil to form rod shaped structures called chromosomes.
Collagen is a long fibrous structural protein. A molecule of collagen contains three of the helical subunits coiled around each other in what is known as a coiled-coil. Hemoglobin on the other hand is a globular protein that contains a heme group. Four globular subunits make up hemoglobin and each contain an iron in order to hold the oxygen for transport.
Young fronds are called "fiddleheads." They get this name from the way they coil up, their heads look like that of a violin, or fiddle. The only way I know this is because I just had this question in science! Good Luck!

Engine coil? Are you talking about the ignition coil? Springs are coiled, And valves-spings are coiled…I have never heard of an engine coil w/o specifying which coil needs to be replaced.
uncoil or unloopThe opposite action of "to coil" is to uncoil. (The opposite of a coiled path is a straight or flat path.)
He entered and found a snake coiled in his bed.
In open coiled springs,in which angle of helix is large, both torsional and bending stresses are significant. In close coiled, only torssional stresses are predominant.
For winding coil.
it is the coiled wire that heats up and gives off light in a incandescent (ordinary) light bulb.
the purpose of a coil in a ice moter is it creates a biger spark.
all snakes have a tendency to coil when threatened and can strike about half to a third of their size. however, they prefer to get away rather then have a confrontation. so, if a snake is coiled simply step back slowly and it will leave without a problem. (do not try to approach a snake that is coiled unless you are trained in herpetology.
If you take a rope and coil it up on a flat table, you will get the basic idea of what a coiled shell looks like. Or, you could look at a cinnamon roll which is the culinary equivalent of a coiled shell. I'm going to let you decide....does a lobster look like a cinnamon roll?
Wound. As in you wound something around (coiled), or you received a wound (an injury.)
The purpose of a coil pack is to supply the spark to the spark plugs.
