Hmmm I'm no rocket scientist or anything but I'm gonna say it will rot and you will lose the finger......way sooner than a year without the blood circulating through it.

What to do for a staved finger?

What you need to do is add Ice to it and make sure to keep it elevated (You can put your arm on a pillow to allow better blood flow, and make less blood flow directly into the finger to allow the swelling to go down) Also, you need to tape the larger finger next to the staved on, tape them TOGETHER. You did not mention which finger you staved, so for example if it is your RING finger, you would tape your MIDDLE finger with it (not the pinky) When you are playing football, you need to keep them taped, and put BOTH fingers in the SAME FINGER HOLDER in the gloves. Trust me, this will allow goal keeping with much more comfort. Also, be sure to ice the finger after the game. You can ice it up to 4 times per day. Take Paracetamal or an NSAID (Such as Diclofenac Sodium) Which should be OTC (over the counter) It is in most parts of Europe. You can also try to get some Buprofen Plus (IB Profen with 16mg of Codeine for pain) Source? I am a 1st year resident Medical Doctor. However, you can not legally take my advice, you must see your doctor. My advice is for informational purpose only. Any advice you use or misuse may not be directed back toward me in accordance with medical law.

If exposed to a pathogen for the second time in a year what would likely happen to the antibody levels against the organism?

If exposed to the same pathogen for the second time in a year, the antibody levels against the organism will increase more rapidly and to a higher level than during the first exposure. This is due to the presence of memory B cells that can quickly produce antibodies upon re-exposure to the pathogen.

Is there a replacement for lack of cartilage in the finger joints?

Currently, there is no direct replacement for cartilage in finger joints. Treatments typically focus on managing pain and inflammation through medication, physical therapy, steroid injections, and, in severe cases, surgical options such as joint fusion or joint replacement. Researchers are exploring new techniques like tissue engineering and regenerative medicine to potentially develop innovative solutions in the future.
