Setting of curd is a chemical change b'coz when lactobacillus bacteria comes in contact of milk they convert the milk to curd due to some biochemical reasons.

The formation of curd is a chemical change because it involves a chemical reaction between the bacteria culture and the milk proteins. This reaction results in changes to the chemical composition of the milk, forming curd.

As you would know milk is made out of curd(ma mom would know how..but to my knowledge u put a little amount of yesterday's curd into a casserole an add hot milk to it...let it set through the night ,and Voila! u get curd in the in the morning or it may even tk longer depends on the temp.)*i'm n tht sure abt d process i might hv missed something out ..ma mom would know... *
Nw bk to the answer:
No. 1)There is a complete change in orientation((milk is liquid curd is semi))...
No. 2)There is change in odor...
No. 3)-The bacteria releases lactic acid...
No. 4)-There is a drop in pH value due to formation of acid...
All these things together prove that setting of curd Is a chemical change
Setting of curd is a chemical change because we cannot get the milk we used to make the curd and a new substance is formed.

∙ 13y agothe right answer is that it is a physical change as it is made from milk and is a milk product.
Wiki User
∙ 12y agoyou would know that a curd is a chemical change because you cannot get the milk back thats why and chemical changes are irreverseble .

∙ 12y agoYes, it's a complex reaction with the enzyme rennet, that also yields whey.

It is an endothermic reaction. It absorbs heat while freezing.
A physical change is a change in appearance or state of matter without altering the chemical composition. Examples include cutting paper or melting ice. A chemical change results in the formation of new substances with different chemical properties. Examples include burning wood or rusting iron.
Burning wood to ash requires a chemical change because the wood undergoes a combustion reaction, resulting in the formation of new substances (ash and gases) with different chemical properties than the original wood.
Copper can react with the acidic nature of curd, leading to the formation of toxins that may be harmful for consumption. It's best to store curd in containers made of glass, ceramic, or stainless steel to avoid this chemical reaction.
Yes, curd (or yogurt) is more acidic than milk because it is produced by fermentation, which involves the conversion of lactose (milk sugar) into lactic acid by bacteria. This increase in acidity results in the characteristic tangy flavor of curd that is not present in milk.
The process of milk turning into curd is a chemical change because it involves the fermentation of lactose by bacteria present in the curd culture. This fermentation process causes a change in the chemical composition of the milk, leading to the formation of curd through the breakdown of lactose into lactic acid.
The formation of curd is a natural change because it involves a chemical reaction between lactic acid bacteria and milk, resulting in the coagulation of the milk proteins. This process occurs spontaneously without the need for human intervention.
This is a chemical change.
Yes, curdling of milk is a chemical change. It occurs when the proteins in milk denature and coagulate in response to heat, acid, or enzymes, leading to the formation of curds. This change is irreversible and results in a new substance with different properties.
yes!
Curd is a solid.
Curd is a solid.
it can make milk in to curd because it has a special chemical called lacto that changaes milk into curd
Formation of curd in milk is called 'Fermentation'.Curd is formed when milk is pasteurised and fermented by a combination of lactic acid bacteria and a protease.
It is an endothermic reaction. It absorbs heat while freezing.
