Because they say its bad for our environment but if you look on the internet the office depot does sell it. Sani flush has been around for years and if it was unsafe why did they use it in the first place. I feel someone is trying to cover something up.
I don't know if this is a better answer or not, but, several years ago I started having problems finding either Vanish or Saniflush crystals and decided to find out why myself. I was told after it started "just disappearing" off the shelves. I got many different answers, including the "unsafe" answer as well as it didn't work, as well as other stuff etc. As it turns out, that it is (or can be) a main ingredient for making methamphetamines. I started checking this out because I thought myself it sounded too crazy. I went so far as to ask several law enforcement officials and others and it does appear to be very true. I was told repeatedly that pressure was put on to take it out of the stores to prevent this. This was also done with buying Sudafed over the counter and all they did was control it and put it behind the counter but you can still buy it. It is all about controlling the ingredients that make the drugs. It took a long time to get the truth about all of this but it IS true.
I live in the Midwest and it can not be found here at all but when I took a trip to Chicago I had no problem finding it or buying it so I bought several cans and brought them home, but I can't get them again. Walmart stopped selling Saniflush then sold it again and stopped again and was told repeatedly it didn't sell or we don't know why etc. It all goes back to where you live and if you have a big meth problem.
I hope that explains it a little bit. If you doubt the validity of the product safety, just check the ingredients of the products still on the market. They are just as harmful to the environment if you will, but that answer sounds good, it just that it doesn't hold water. By the way, the public would be shocked to know a lot of products that are very good are done this same way, but you just don't hear about it.
