Why liquid limit and plastic limit are important?

The Atterberg limits of a soil are used as an integral part of several engineering classification systems to characterize fine-grained soils. Also these limits are used directly in specifications for controlling soil for use in fills, and in semi-empirical methods of design. A wide variety of engineering properties of soils have also been correlated to the liquid limit, plastic limit, and plasticity index of soils (i.e. Compressibility, Permeability, and Strength).

What is the consistency of soil at liquid limit and Plastic Limit?

zerozeroConsistency limits and plasticityConsistency varies with the water content of the soil. The consistency of a soil can range from (dry) solid to semi-solid to plastic to liquid (wet). The water contents at which the consistency changes from one state to the next are called consistency limits (or Atterberg limits). Two of these are utilised in the classification of fine soils:Liquid limit (wL) - change of consistency from plastic to liquidPlastic limit (wP) - change of consistency from brittle/crumbly to plasticMeasures of liquid and plastic limit values can be obtained from laboratory tests.

Difference between ultimate strength design and working stress design?

Working stress method of design based on the elastic theory in which materials, concrete and steel are assumed to be stressed well below their elastic limit under the design loads. Working stressess (permissible stress) for the materials are determined by dividing the ultimate or yield stressess by suitable factor of safety values. Limit state method of design based on limit state concept, te structure shall be designed to withstand safely all loads liable to act on it throughout its life;It shall also satisfy the serviceability requirements, such as limitations on deflection and cracking. The acceptable limit for the safety and serviceability requirements before failure occurs is called a "limit state". The aim of design is to achieve acceptable probabilities that the structure will not become unfit for the use for which is intended, that is that it will not reach a limit state...

What is Reverse Saturation Current of a diode?

When a diode is operated as reverse bias the current flow is almost completely blocked. A small amount of current is still able to travel in reverse through the diode and this is referred to as the reverse current saturation.

What is the maximum age limit for Saturation diving?

Frankly, speaking to all of you what i had been told by one of the saturation diver that the maximum age doesn't matter atAl's long our medical is pass and fit. Because some of the saturation divers in UK overthrow their ages is 65 years old there still doing the saturation diving. As long you all who get involve in saturation diving operation is fit for your medical fitness you can still continue the job. Kathi's is what i can share the information to all of you.
