This can be a frustrating thing!
The only choice you have is to either go to the NIC and sound manufacturer web sites and get the drivers, usually in the "support" section, or search (Google) for sites with drivers. That would be what I call the last resort as you are now using 3rd party software and could end up with malicious software and not the driver you need.
Best bet:
If available, call the mfr's and ask about where to get the drivers. most mfrs run either web sites, or FTP servers with all the drivers old and new.
Finally, since the drivers were apparently on one CD, it's an OEM CD. Go to your computer mfrs's website (i.e. dell.com, gateway.com, etc and look for the "support section". Any mfr should be able to provide a replacement driver CD.
You can go to the manufacturer's website and look up drivers for your specific computer model. Download and install the audio drivers. If the sound is built-in to the motherboard, the audio driver may be within a chipset/motherboard driver.
If you are referring to the Jetway N68M motherboard, look at the related link for the drivers for the Via audio drivers for Windows 8.
Because you need to install a driver for the internal sound car. Check the motherboard manufacture website for new drivers. If I don't know what card I have, or where it's located, how do I know which driver to install?
You need to get drivers for your hardware if you reinstall the operating system. Go to the manufactures website and download chipset, audio, video, and peripherial drivers for your system, and install them.
I think you mean that you want to download the drivers for the ASUS P4SGX sound card which is embedded in this motherboard? If so Go to http://support.asus.com/download/download_item.aspx?model=P4SGX-MX&product=1&type=All&SLanguage=en-us select >>Drivers Then choose your operating system and then the drivers for the sound card.
You install new drivers for it.
yes. yes.
The sound card and the sound adapter are the hardware devices that control the computer's sound. These need unique drivers for them to function properly.
Of course, as long as the new motherboard supports it.
You need to install a sound card driver which you can find on the motherboard/computer manufacture website.
