Windows desktop backgrounds are often stored on most Windows computers under graphic options. One can also find them on many background and image websites.

In order to change your windows desktop screen go to yahoo or google and type in desktop wallpaper, then find the one you want or try some out maybe see the ones you like, click on one image right click, go to little tab that says set as desktop background. If it fills the whole page great! If it shows a little picture or medium then just click the color you want for background and then there is your awesome desktop picture!
In order for one to find natural pictures for a desktop background one could go outside and take some natural pictures then upload them to their computer and set the one they want for a background.

I am going to assume you bought this laptop recently. Windows 7 is a little different from XP. Instead of getting "Properties" you get "Personalize" when you right click on a blank space on the desktop. Windows 7 gives you many choices. If you want to have your own background just click on "Background Images" and find your image.
Right click anywhere on your desktop, click Properties, then click on the settings tab. The number, also called resolution, shown here is your background size.
