The term white is not really an appropriate way of labeling people, as it is superficial and open to much interpretation. Really the entire idea of races of humans is outdated and not biologically accurate. In 1870 Thomas Huxley defined 9 races of people in his "On the Geographical Distribution of the Chief Modifications of Mankind." In Coon's rewrite of "The Races of Europe" define only 5. Note that both distinguish the Middle East as Caucasian just as the rest of Europe, and most of India.
