Hi i am no professional in nutrition and diet but by my personal experience flax seed oil does tend to cause gas and acidity. This usually only occurs when the amount of flax seed oil consumed is more than your body can digest. I have just reduced the amount i consume from 3 tbsp a day to 1 tbsp and is working very well for me but do substitute the flax oil with other good oils like olive oil perhaps would be a good option. If you are just taking 1 tbsp try and take 1 tsp three times a day separately in smaller dose's hope this helps

I think it doesn't matter but if you eat whole flax seeds you have to chew them well. The outside of flax seed is too hard to break apart by chewing and whole flax seed is not properly digested to get out the nutrients. The recommendation is to use either flax seed oil to use already ground flax seed.
