Starchy foods provide energy for your cells. But if you eat too much starchy foods, you will get overweight. Everything is good in moderation.
Starchy foods are in the grains and bread group. The food pyramid has some starchy foods in the vegetables group, however they don't equate nearly as much when comparing to the grains. The carbohydrate-rich foods in the grains group are the reason they have so much starch.

To start you will wanna eat light foods. Stay away from starchy foods, or greasy foods, those will only make you very sick to your stomach, the eventually you can eat better foods, but its not what you can/cannot eat its how much of it you eat..... eat in moderation
Starchy vegetables are those that are high in carbohydrates. This can benefit a person if there is a need for a lot of energy. It can also have a negative effect if too much is consumed because the body will store the excess causing weight gain. Some starchy vegetables include beans, beats, carrots, corn, green peas, parsnips, pumpkin, sweet potatoes, taro, white potatoes, winter squash, and yams. A balanced meal with these vegetables will not lead to an excess in starches.
The main things to stay away from are breads, starchy foods like beans & potatoes & pasta and milk. And of course no desserts and not much fruit.
Eating too much carbs eventually turns to fat!!!!! Watch out for starchy foods, processed foods, high sugar, and white bread/rice ect. Try to eat more whole grains, organics, veggies, fruites and less sugar because if you over do it it will allll turn to FAT!
