Okay, so you want to lose weight. The basic way to do that is limit Calorie intake and exercise. Having set goals for weight and time to achieve it is key for some people. Just having a plan helps. Weight loss is never a fast deal where you can "Lose a Pound A Day!". It's about the little choices, and the seemingly insignificant bites that add up. You just have to ask yourself, "Is not having this really worth that?" Tricky business.When I said exercise, I meant running because that's the fastest, most efficient way. Running speeds up your metabolism which is important in weight loss because it will burn calories even AFTER you stop exercising for the day! Great, right? Here's the trick, weight lifting, yoga, stretching, and most aerobics aren't enough to speed up your metabolism so running really is the best answer. Oh yeah, and remember to stretch and drink lots of water!When you are dieting and want to limit calorie intake, a great way to do that is carry around a small notebook with you EVERYWHERE! Every time you eat something (or are about to) think about the calories in it and if you do consume something, write it down. Just putting the numbers down on paper can really cut down on tricky foods you dont need. Ask yourself, "Am I REALLY hungry?". If you aren't savvy with the amounts of calories in foods, you can generally Google "Calories in ______" and it will pop up from a calorie counter sight. (This hasn't failed me yet. Those sights have everything!)The tricky thing about dieting is DON'T skip breakfast! Your body has already gone 8 hours without. If you are prone to severe limits on food throughout your day, it makes your body believe there isn't any food coming so it fill convert anything that DOES come in to fat right away and store it. In addition, if you go a long time with out food it makes your metabolism slow way down (BAD!) and your body's cells function very inefficiently, which means clinging to calories as a survival technique. Be careful to avoid the Binge/Fast cycle, which causes weight fluctuation, no progress, and sometimes being heavier than you started. Did I mention drink water? MOST IMPORTANT FOR DIETING! WATER WATER WATER! Carry around a bottle you can refill with you.I have probably overloaded you with information but I'd like to say one last thing. Everyone wants to lose an extra 10 pounds so I understand, but it is important to ask yourself where you're going with the weight loss plans and if it's a safe thing. I have seen so many people develop disorders and you need to be careful. I hope that you'll have a successful and HEALTHY time with this.
