junk food is not nutrient dense, it provides a lot of calories form starches and fats, but these items are bad for you! if you have a hundred calories just from starches its not the same as when you have 100 cals from a nutrient dense vegetable for instance brokkoli which provides minerals, vitamins, some helathy fatty acids and so on...
