The Tyrannosaurus rex lived in Western North America from Canada to Texas between 68 and 65.5 million years ago. In the northern part of their range, prey would have included Edmontosaurus and Triceratops, and perhaps smaller dinosaurs such as Pachycephalosaurus and Ornithomimus on occasion. In the southern area, they would have hunted Edmontosaurus, Torosaurus, and potentially even the sauropod Alamosaurus. Their prey ate plants such as conifers, ferns and potentially some early flowering plants.
