Molarity = moles solute/liter solution
moles solute = 7 g NaCl x 1 mol NaCl/58 g NaCl = 0.12 moles NaCl
liters of solution = 450.0 ml x 1 L/1000 ml = 0.450 liters
molarity = 0.12 moles/0.450 liters = 0.268 M = 0.3 M (one sig fig)

Molarity=Mass (in g)/Volume (in L)

1st.) convert 500 mL to L

500.0 x (1mL/1000 L)=.5 L

2nd.) 0.100 M= x amount of grams/ .5 liters

.100 M x .5 liters= x amount of grams

The molarity of sodium chloride in a solution containing 0.50 mol of sodium chloride in 500 mL of water would be 1M.

0.50 moles in 500mls means there are 1.0 moles in 1 liter.

What is the molarity of sodium sulphate in a solution prepared by dissolving 15.5g in enough water to make 35ml of solution?

Molarity = moles of solute/volume of solution Find moles NaCl 55 grams NaCl (1mol NaCl/58.44 grams) = 0.941 moles NaCl Molarity = 0.941 moles NaCl/35 Liters = 0.027 Molarity NaCl ( sounds reasonable as 55 grams is not much in 35 Liters of water, which would be about 17.5 2 liter sodas )
