It is not yet known to what extent CO2 "drives" climate, as opposed to being driven by climate. There are so many things that affect climate. It is not yet known, for example, whether Man's trivial increase to CO2 (a rather trivial greenhouse gas) has any effect on climate worth mentioning. The Sun, water vapor, ocean currents... so many variables. It is clear that climate is changing... it always does... but it is becoming less and less popular to simply assume Man is causing it. After all, we can't control the tides or sunrise... why assume we control climate?

One Main one is overcoming the counter-predictions of Those Who Are Not In The Know.

I wish that I could say "The said difficulties arise from Difficulties in Data Collection, Processing and Analysis." yet I cannot. Our 'Supposed Difficulties' arise from Ignorance - general and specific ; both Yield the Same Result: an increasingly, Daily, detrimentally polluted Atmosphere [ in more ways than One - Governmental Ineptitude [not just merely Apathy] is among Them] .

When did Svante August Arrhenius predict global warming?

In 1896 Svante Arrhenius speculated that increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere could raise the temperature through the greenhouse effect. He wrote his "Greenhouse Law":If the quantity of carbonic acid increases in geometric progression, the augmentation of the temperature will increase nearly in arithmetic progression. He was the first person to predict that carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) would lead to global warming.

Why do scientists want to predict solar winds in Earth's atmosphere?

Scientists want to predict solar winds in Earth's atmosphere to help them track geomagnetic storms. Geomagnetic storms can disrupt the Earth's magnetosphere.

Is it impossible to predict the climate area if you know its temperate?

No, it is not impossible to predict the climate area if one knows its temperate. In fact, knowing this information makes it relatively easy as each temperate has specific characteristics.

What factors must you consider in order to predict the climate of an Earth-like planet in space?

The climate of a planet depends a lot on its surroundings. Does this planet have an atmosphere? If not, climate cannot exist (like the moon). If there's lots of water on this planet, there's a good chance it will be rainy season all year round. It also depends on the distance from the sun. If the planet's near the sun, it will be warmer, if it's farther, it will be colder.

How can scientists predict global warming?

Climate is easier to predict than weather, as climate is not subject to the same vagaries. Scientists use complex computer simulations to model climate change. Climate models have successfully predicted changes on all seven of the eight planets in our solar system which possess atmospheres. Mercury, with no atmosphere, essentially has no climate.

What tools do you use to to predict future climate changes?

You could use a sling psychrometer to get the relative humidity and predict tomarrows weather. You could use satilites to see what to atmosphere looks like and predict tomarrows weather.

What effect do carbon dioxide methane and a few other atmospheric gases have on earths temperature?

Gases such as Carbon dioxide and methane cause the atmosphere to absorb more of the suns heat, hence warming the atmosphere. A warmer atmosphere cases changes like less arctic ice, fewer glaciers, which case less reflectivity of the suns heat, the melting water raises sea levels. It can also cause climate changes which result in smaller winter snow packs, which means less water for the summer. On the other side a warmer climate can cause more severe storms much as El Nino does.

What does the work of a meteorologist involved?

Meteorologists are scientists who study the atmosphere. They examine its effects on the environment, predict the weather, or investigate climate trends. A meteorologist's work involves researching and forecasting the weather.

How do scientists predict how land features will look in the future?

The magnitude and rate of future climate change will primarily depend on the following factors:The rate at which levels of greenhouse gas concentrations in our atmosphere continue to increaseHow strongly features of the climate (e.g., temperature, precipitation, and sea level) respond to the expected increase in greenhouse gas concentrationsNatural influences on climate (e.g., from volcanic activity and changes in the sun's intensity) and natural processes within the climate system (e.g., changes in ocean circulation patterns)

Can you predict climate?

Climate and weather are different things that are predicted differently due to the timescale. Weather prediction focuses on dynamics of the atmosphere down to very small scales - even turbulent eddies in the air. Climate prediction doesn't incorporate that because it averages out - this type of prediction is much more concerned with the radiation balance of the planet, for example, as well as feedbacks that accumulate over time within the system, which would never be a concern to weather forecasters.

How do human activities affect the earth's climate?

Human activity primarily effects the climate through the release of greenhouse gases. They are released when we burn fossil fuels. The reason that burning fossil fuels is a problem is that it adds extra carbon dioxide (CO2) to the atmosphere. The extra CO2 traps heat from the Sun, gradually causing the Earth to warm up.A:Human activities such as the burning of coal and natural gases, and industrial processes affect the climate by increasing greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. The increase greenhouse gases traps more infrared rays for the sun and therefore increase the earth's temperature.Carbon dioxide is produced when coal, oil etc. is burned for transportation, heating, industrial processes, and other appliances.
