Like the DOW industrials, the DSE20 is supposed to represent a group of companies on the DSE, or East Pakistan Stock Exchange, (which was itself set up around 1954 when they couldn't play ball with the other local stock exchanges). In the same way that the DOW is a useless piece of information (GM was on the DOW for years, now it isn't, it is in bankruptcy, so GM is replaced by another company. How useful a measure is the DOW now that GM isn't on it any longer? What use is it to compare 20 companies that change their composition from year to year? If you want a general idea of where a country's economy is heading, use a more general index, such as the S&P500, where you at least get almost all of the economic activity that a country or region is supporting. The DSE seems to have only 236 companies on it, and picking 20 of those can't be all that informative. Link stored below reads as follows: http://www.dsebd.org/dse20_share.php

Can you explain the process of how to drop an index in a database?

To drop an index in a database, you need to use a specific SQL command. First, you identify the name of the index you want to drop. Then, you use the DROP INDEX statement followed by the name of the index. This command removes the index from the database, making the associated data searchable without the index.

Explain how an index fossil can be used date rock.?

Index fossils are fossils of organisms that lived for a relatively short period of time but were widespread geographically. By identifying these index fossils in a particular layer of rock, scientists can determine the age of the rock and correlate it with other rock layers containing the same index fossils. This allows for the relative dating of rock layers based on the presence of specific index fossils.

Explain why the index of refraction for air (a gas) is smaller than the index of refraction for a solid like glass?

The index of refraction is a measure of how much light slows down when passing through a medium. The molecules in gases are more spread out compared to solids like glass, so there's less interaction with light, resulting in a smaller index of refraction for air compared to glass.
