It hasn't worked for me so far, but I do know people for whom it worked.
Chantix. While not an antidepressant, it is similar to Wellbutrin which is an antidepressant, and is also used to help smoking cessation.
If you are expecting the Wellbutrin to do all the work, then never. It will help decrease your desire through mood, appetite, and taste changes...but it is an aid, not the cure. You have to actively want to cease smoking.
Wellbutrin (buproprion) can be used to help people suffering from affective illness and has been shown to help with smoking cessation.
Yes. The antidepressant bupropion (Wellbutrin) is marketed under the name Zyban as a smoking cessation aid.
Bupropion is as labeled Wellbutrin or Zyban. Wellbutrin is for depression. Zyban is a smoking cessation. They are the same drug just prescribed for two different ailments.
Smoking cessation drugs are medicines that help people stop smoking cigarettes or using other forms of tobacco.
Using Wellbutrin has shown to be a great way to quit smoking for females. You will have to go to your physician to get a prescription but I have heard they work
No. Barbituates are drugs that are used as hypnotics or sleep inducers. Wellbutrin is an antidepressant, and also sometimes used to aid in the cessation of smoking.
Basically, smoking cessation is simply not smoking anymore. There are nicotine replacement products such as patches and gum with amounts of nicotine in them to help ease the cravings.
The best book for people who want to stop smoking is 'The NSCI Stop-Smoking Handbook, by Robert Brynin', the Research Director of the National Smoking Cessation Institute. You have to buy it on Amazon.
There are various programs online to help with cessation of smoking, such as www.smokefree.gov/ and www.quitnet.com/.
Likely not. I actually BLAME wellbutrin for being one of a few factors in exacerbating GAD in me, it seems as though wellbutrin kicks up (prevents reuptake) of chemicals often responsible for elevated attention... so while many or most people may not find wellbutrin to cause or elevate anxiety, its unlikely to help. (other factors in my anxiety being adderall and marijuana, a past history of cocaine use and abrupt cessation of cigarette smoking/cocaine)
