It is somewhat syntax of programming. But when program runs, device known as pre-processor process statements before main function. So when we use that function inside main function it will get idea and run directly without showing any error.

So for compilers simplicity and fast execution purpose it is necessary to declare function before its use.

Why should variables be declared in a programming?

a variable should in a programming because as the definition implies it is a named location in the memory where all the data is to be stored

What is a variable that is used within a function?

If the variable is declared within the function body, it is a local variable, one that is local to the function. Local variables fall from scope when the function returns, they are only accessible within the function. However, local variables can be returned by value, which creates an automatic variable that is returned to the caller. If the caller does not store the return value, the automatic variable falls from scope when the expression containing the function call ends. However, the expression may evaluate the return value without storing it. Note that functions cannot return local variables by reference since the local variable falls from scope when the function returns. If the variable is passed as an argument to the function, then the variable is a parameter of the function. Arguments may be passed by value or by reference, depending upon the function signature. Passing by value means the function parameter is a copy of the argument (if the argument is an object, the object's copy constructor is invoked automatically). Thus any changes made to the parameter within the function are not reflected in the argument that was originally passed, and the parameter will fall from scope when the function returns. However, the value of the parameter can be returned as previously explained. Passing by reference means the function parameter refers directly to the argument that was passed. Thus any changes made to the parameter are reflected in the argument. Parameters that are declared as constant references assure the caller that the reference's immutable members will not be altered by the function. If the parameter is a non-const reference but the caller does not wish changes to be reflected in the argument, the caller should pass a copy of the argument instead.

What is global variable in C programming?

A global variable is a variable that is declared at global scope, rather than file, namespace, function, class or nested scope. Global variables are usually declared with external linkage within a header and initialised in one (and only one) source file. Any file that includes the header (which includes the source file that initialised the global variable) then has unrestricted access to the variable. It is globally visible and any code can alter it. Global variables should be used sparingly and only when absolutely necessary. If the vast majority of the functions in your program require access to a particular variable, then a global variable makes perfect sense and is by far the simplest solution. However, a variable that is only used by a handful of functions can hardly be described as a global entity, thus it has no place within the global namespace and should be scoped to those functions that actually require it instead.

When is a function executed and where should a function prototype and function definition appear in a source program?

If you want to use prototype it has to be declared before main(). If you have a function of type double with one argument of type int (with name arg), and the function name is func, then we have:#include ...double func(int arg);...int main(...){...return 0;}...double func(int arg){...}

Which header file should you include if you are to develop a function which can accept?

To develop a function that can accept variable arguments in C, you should include the header file <stdarg.h>. This header provides macros like va_list, va_start, and va_end, which are essential for handling functions with a variable number of arguments. By using these macros, you can iterate through the arguments passed to your function.

How do you make a variables from outside a function work in that function?

declaring a variable before main() will be accessed in main as well as in function which is called a "global variable" or "external variable". *edit* a very good programming practice, which is also necessary with some compilers, is to declare the variable inside the function as well with the extern declaration before the type declaration. for example if you had this inside a function: int func(){ int x = 0; x++; return x; } that would be fine, but to declare it externally, you should include extern inside the function int x = 0; int func(){ extern x; x++; return x; } assuming that we declared the variable globally, which we did.

Where is the best place to declare the variable that holds the control break value?

What is the 'Control break value'? I think it should be declared before the first usage.

What is the difference between global variable and extern variable?

Global variables are non-local variables. That is, variables that are not defined in a function or class. They are globally accessible to all code in the same translation unit. External variables are global variables that have external linkage; they are accessible across translation units.

What is static variable and how it is declared?

static variables are declared to define a variable as a constant., means if you declare a variable as static the variable becomes costant.syntaxstatic int a=100;this will make the value of a as 100 which is not to be changedWell, no; you think of 'const', which can be used together with static, but not necessarily.Yes you are right bro I was confused it should be const int a=100; then the variable will be a constant.
