ill list: Tally's friend Peris turns pretty. Tally sneaks over to see him, and meets Shay, another Ugly. After Tally and Shay become close friends, Shay runs away to the smoke, and leaves Tally directions to follow her if she wants. Dr. Cable gives Tally a heart Necklace with a tracker that will activate whens she puts her eye to it, and tells her just to activate it in the smoke, so they could find it. Tally meets David, and decides to burn the necklace, because she likes the Smoke. Dr. Cable arrives with the specials who capture most the smokies, and Tally discovers that the tracker activates when damaged. They tell her to get the necklace, and she tricks them and runs away, and finds David. David and Tally rescue some of the smokies from Special Circumstances headquarters, But they find that Shay was already turned pretty and David's Dad; Az was killed in an experiment to try to forget the Lesions. Tally tells David that she was the one who betrayed the smoke and then writes a full consent to take the pills that Maddy made to cure the lesions; Tally turns herself in to become pretty.
