One day in the course of his Italian campaign, Napolean unattended by any officer, had advanced far beyond the main line of army He had taken no food during the day and had enjoyed no sleep for several nights. A poor soldier had a crust of bread in his bag. He broke the bread into two pieces and gave one half to his starving general. After this simple meal, Nepoleon, in his usual fashion, wrapped himself in a cloak and lay down upon the ground by the soldier for an hour's sleep. Ten years had passed away, Napoleon was now the Emperor of France. He was making a triumphal march through Belgium, when one day, a soldier from the ranks came upto him and said, "on the eve of the Battle of Bassanio, I shared my crust of bread with you when you were hungry. I now ask from you bread for my father who is worn down with age and poverty". Napoleon once settled a session upon the old man and promoted the soldier to be on officer. Questions: A) What favour did the soldier seek from the Emperor and why?
