It is two words. Writing it as one is acceptable in the UK and is referred to as a "Britishism." But in American grammar, it is always two separate words.

there are two screws on the inside of the taillight and then you have to slide it out from two brackets, if you can't get the brackets out you may have to pop out the plastic tabs.

To change the taillight bulb in a 1998 Toyota T100, first, open the tailgate and locate the two screws securing the taillight assembly. Remove these screws and gently pull the taillight assembly out from the body of the truck. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to remove it, then pull out the old bulb and insert the new one. Finally, reassemble the taillight by reversing the steps and ensuring everything is securely fastened.

Let your tail gate down and there will be two screws holding your taillight on. Remove those and your taillight will pop out.
If you lift up the tailgate there are two screws that hold the taillight into place. If you unscrew those, the taillight will come off of the truck.

This is an easy one. Remove the two screws that hold the taillight to the body. They are located just inside the tailgate. The taillight has two tabs the fit into slots opposite the screws, so you'll need to swing the assembly as if you're opening it like a door. The brake light is the top bulb on the back of the taillight. This is assuming that you weren't referring to the "3rd eye" brake light, which I haven't done.
Take the two screws out.
