To change the air pump on a 1997 Volvo 960, first disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety. Remove any necessary components obstructing access to the air pump, such as the engine cover or hoses. Disconnect the electrical connector and the inlet and outlet hoses from the pump, then unbolt the pump from its mounting bracket. Install the new pump by reversing the removal steps, ensuring all connections are secure before reconnecting the battery.
There is only one.

When my Volvo broke an alternator drive belt the majority of the warning lights came on.
The Volvo 960 in the UK is a straight-six 3 litre model. If North American 960's are similar then yes, there is a fuel pump mounted above the fuel tank - it actually fits onto the fuel tank. There's also another fuel pump located beneath the car, just aft of the front passenger seat (driver side in the States ..) in a bracket along with the fuel filter. There's an eBay (UK) guide at http://reviews.eBay.co.UK/Volvo-960-Automatic_W0QQugidZ10000000003233806 There's also some photos on my website that may help you (www) glennsmart.btinternet.co.UK and choose 'Volvo 960' from the drop down menu.
