The key - and first step - is to get the correct replacement wipers. With the 1997 BMW 528I is it challenging to find aftermarket replacements but they are available. With aftermarket replacements, they will come with illustrated instructions on how to remove and install the wiper blades.
So, I recommend some internet research to find aftermarket blades. You can Google 'lookup wiper size' and enter your vehicle make, model and year. Some companies/brands will have them, some will not. You'll know if the 1997 BMW 528I is listed or not.
If you cannot find aftermarket, you'll have to go to your dealer. Sometimes OE replacements have instructions and sometimes they don't. Then it comes down to if your dealer is willing to give you instructions or swap them out for free (no labor charges). Most will charge you for parts and labor though.

removing the thermostat on a 1997 BMW 528i series will be simple. First the fan will need to be taken off, then the cowl covering will need to be removed. After these parts are removed, the thermostat is in plain view. The hoses on the thermostat do not need to be removed on this car. The thermostat will removed by taking the two bolts off.
