We have a 1998 Saab 900. It is not driven often. The battery drains if it has not been driven for 6 days. I took the car to a car electrician. He checked the obvious spots and told me the car should be using between 15-50 mA energy max, when the motor is not running. My car is using 60 mA. According to the electrician, this is about 40% higher than what it should do. The electrician has ordered the schematic wiring instructions to check where the energy is being used. The battery and the alternator are new. I have typed in 'battery drain Saab 900' in googe. Quite a number of hits. Have not yet found the solution though. It seems this is a common occurance for the Saab 900.

I had a similar problem with a 1996 Saab 900. I could make the window go down but not up with the windows switch in the center console. For me it wound up being a window switch in the door. I swapped the suspect switch with one from a known good door and low and behold the window would go down and up. Bought a new switch and everything was good as new! Hope that works for you.

Well, this is not really an answer, but a perspective. I recently paid over $1000 for new front pads, rotors, calipers and labor for an '85 900 Turbo. This was from an independent mechanic. So, $565 doesn't sound that far off for a 9-5.
