To retrieve the radio code for a 1998 Volvo, first, locate the vehicle's VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and the radio's serial number, which can usually be found on a label on the radio itself or displayed on the screen when the radio is in "CODE" mode. Next, contact a Volvo dealership or use an online service that specializes in retrieving radio codes; they may require your VIN and the radio serial number. Alternatively, you can check your vehicle's owner's manual, as some codes are documented there.
You have to take it to a Volvo dealer. They can look up the code in their database. Each radio has a unique code based on the serial number of the radio.
if the radio came out of same truck nothing is needed to do should be already set up and vin in radio. if you switched radio from another truck into this one it needs to be programmed and set up at a dealer.
go to a Chevy dealer and they can get the code from your serial# of your truck

There is nothing to reset except the radio presets and the clock unless it has an antitheft radio. In that case you must insert the code for the radio.
