In a 2001 Volkswagen Golf, the brake light fuse is typically located in the fuse box, which is found under the dashboard on the driver's side. You may also find a second fuse box in the engine compartment. The specific fuse for the brake lights is usually labeled in the fuse diagram, which can be found on the cover of the fuse box or in the owner's manual. Always refer to the manual for the exact location and specifications for the fuse.
i replaced a brake light bulb in my 2001 golf now none ofthe brake lights are working ! i can not tell which fuse is the one for the brake lights ! please help ?
Check the bulbs, fuse & brake light switch on the pedal.
Check the fuses. You'll probably need to replace the 20 amp fuse.
It may be the ABS is you have it. Check the fuse for the ABS and if it is blown, that's why the light is on.
fuse 42 is 4 the radio
You have to get a new brake light switch!
Check the fuse for the interior lights. Nick
You can reset the brake warning lights, on your VW Jetta, by backing up 20 feet and using the brakes. The automobile will sense the new pads and the warning light will go off.
I had the same problem. I found a ground contact failure in a rear light bulb socket. If you check this connector your problem will be solved.
See sources and related links below for the brake lamp and light bulb list information.
