it's probably in third gear which is "limp home mode" on jags. that means there is probably a loose connection or short in the electronic transmission
I would check the relays up by the passenger side fire wall. If they're blue or purpple ect.. any other colour other than black they need to be replaced! They allow moisture in and effect the system. That should do it unless it's a major transmission/electrical problem. This is the most likely and cheapest to fix at 12 per relay I believe there is 4 up there and I fail to remember which one is for the trans.
If stick shift jumps outta second gear is it okay to drive the car?
Cable too slack.
No it will shift slow.
check transmission fluid level first. one of the shift sensors needs replacing you need to read codes to find out what is problem
Could be a bad vacuum line, low on fluid, or a bad 700r4 trani
It turns on just fine, just doesn't shift into gear. Transmission fluid is full.
When shifting from first to second gear in a manual transmission vehicle, you need to press the clutch pedal to disengage the engine from the transmission. Then, while keeping the clutch pedal depressed, move the gear shifter from first gear to second gear. Finally, release the clutch pedal slowly while simultaneously pressing the gas pedal to smoothly engage the engine with the transmission in second gear.
If would not be bad for a car engine to shift from third to second gear if you are traveling at 30mph.
That's your security alarm light.
Stick shift, yes. Automatic, no.
A bad solenoid is likely the reason why your 1994 Chevrolet S10 Blazer won't shift into 1st or 4th gear. Getting it replaced should fix the issue.
Worn synchonizer?
