Both of these vehicles used the same starter and it doesn't matter if the 93 318is has the manual or automatic transmission. The part number is Bosch 12-41-1-740-379-M14.
The starter is hidden under the throttle body. Also very hard to get to, not to mention hard to see. I'd recommend having a professional do the dirty work.
To replace the starter on a 1993 Buick Roadmaster, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, remove the starter's electrical connections and the mounting bolts holding it in place. Once the old starter is removed, position the new starter and secure it with the bolts, reconnect the electrical connections, and finally reattach the negative battery cable. Always double-check your work before starting the vehicle to ensure everything is properly connected.
Either you've got a dead cell in the battery or the cable ends need to be cleaned and tightened.
price your starter at local auto parts store. most starters can be replace in about an hour or two. should only cost you for starter if you are going to do the work yourself.
Yes, a starter has to be grounded to work.
On a 1993 Mazda MX-6 with a 4-cylinder engine, the starter is located on the rear side of the engine, near the transmission. Specifically, it is positioned low and towards the driver's side of the vehicle. To access it, you may need to remove some components or work from underneath the car.
its probbaly the starter. i have a 1993 and mine went bad. check all the wires and tighten everything that's loose and if that dosent work put a screw driver across the terminals on the starter and if it dosent turn over then the starter is bad
Sounds like resistor in key is bad
nothing
None will work.
Could it be your starter won't work because... Ford didn't make a 1998 Thunderbird?
