Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming is a Chinese Martial Arts master and author of many books and DVDs. He was born in Taiwan, where he learned Gong Fu (White Crane and Shaolin Long Fist) and Taijiquan and Qigong. He learned White Crane Gong Fu from Cheng, Gin Gsao for thirteen years (1961-1974), and this included bare hands and of various weapons such as saber, staff, spear, trident, two short rods, and many others. With the same master he also studied White Crane Qin Na (or Chin Na), Tui Na and Dian Xue massages, and herbal treatment. He studied Long Fist with Li Mao Ching, with whom he still maintains a strong connection. He studied Taijiquan with Kao Tao and Wilson Chen.

He is well known because of his diverse and prolific works (books and DVDs) on martial arts and Qigong published by YMAA Publication Center and also because of his many international seminars, specially in the US and Europe.

He was awarded the title "Man of the Year" twice by Inside Kung Fu Magazine, the first time in 1990 and the second in 2007. The Black Belt Magazine named him "Kung Fu Artist of the Year 2003".
