When doing exercise your ligaments begin to stretch this happens and muscles are not very warm and slightly pull more than they want to. when they are warm our muscles are pulled to points where it stretches past a usual point this stretches the ligament rather than tearing it, the long term effect of this is that our ligaments become "slightly stretched" this enables more extension and and flexion in sport and everyday life
