Most mythological creatures are not real. It is possible legends of dragons were woven around discoveries of ancient dinosaur fossils. Certainly no vertebrate tetrapod ever possessed both four legs AND wings. Nor has ANY chordate, marine or terrestrial, possessed the ability to breathe fire.
